STAR SCHOLARSHIP / WCSCC:  The Wayne County Schools Career Center is again sponsoring the $1,000 Star Scholarship for full-time career development training through Adult & Community Education at the WCSCC.  All application information is kept confidential.  Applications will be available in the Guidance Office after the first of the year (2022) with a deadline of April 15th. 

WAYNE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INFO: Graduating Seniors applying to Wayne College with a 3.5 GPA; a 24 ACT or higher; fully admitted to Wayne College with the Wayne College Scholarship Application which is submitted by February 2022 will be considered.  Eligibility is not based on Financial Need or College Credit done in high school.  Student must be enrolled as a full-time student at Wayne College with at least 12 credit hours or more for the Fall of 2022.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kristin Foy Samson at Wayne College.

BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU Of AKRON / Marketplace Education Initiative:  BBB/Akron is inviting High School students, grades 9-12, to participate in one of their BBB Student Contests.  This is a chance for students to earn cash prizes!  "The Laws of Life Contest" is for students in grades 9-12, and principles based on the UncommonSense Framework, or "law of Life".  BBB also offers a Student Video Contest, that gives an opportunity to show practical skills in advertising audio/video technology, graphic design, and storytelling with a purpose.  Visit BBB.ORG for more information.

UPWARD BOUND: See Mrs. Berry, Rm #113  Thinking about college?  Don't know how to get there?  UPWARD BOUND is a program which helps eligible students prepare for and then succeed in college.  Who is Eligible?  Students who want to continue their education beyond high school, have financial need and/or are living with parents who do not have a bachelor's degree.  Ohio State ATI Upward Bound serves students at four (4) high schools in the area.

THE WILLIAM D. SQUIRES EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, INC SCHOLARSHIPS:  They are offering 20 scholarships in the amount of $4,000 to $5,000.  This can be a renewable scholarship for a potential value of $20,000; Must know career goal; Have good character and be highly motivated. To apply you must have a 3.20 GPA or above.  The yearly William D. WCSCC STAR SCHOLARSHIP:  The Wayne County Schools Career Center is offering the $1,000 Star Scholarship for a senior at each high school in the county if they are enrolling in one of the following programs:  Office Technology (Administrative Office Professional); Healthcare (Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting); Trade & Industry (Manufacturing Technology; and Service Industry (Cosmetology.  See your Guidance Counselor to apply!  Applications are usually due in April, 2022.  

WAYNE COUNTY COMMITTEE FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN & ADULTS:  This committee offers scholarships to those young adults with physical handicaps who wish to continue their education in college or technical school.  The award would be $1,000 for the first year, and then $1,500 for the following three years.  If you would have any questions about this, please contact Wendi Warren at 330.421.0310.  

WAYNE COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION - YOUTH FOUNDATION FUND:  This program was established to support Wayne County youth projects.  To be a part of this program, applicants must be entering their Junior year of H.S.  This select group of high school students will gain valuable leadership experience, learn more about local charitable giving, understand how investments grow charitable funds, evaluate and recommend grant awards, and meet local philanthropic leaders.  Meetings are held one sunday per month during the school year 2-3 hour meetings.  There is no cost to apply.  Applications are available in the OHS Guidance Office and must be received by APRIL 1st.  

WAYNE COUNTY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION $500 SCHOLARSHIP:  (checking with the Credit Union to see about scholarship availability for the 2022 graduates - usually updated in the spring)
